Disasters of all kinds can cause loss of life, property and can even cripple companies and institutions. What exactly classifies a disaster? What issues need to be addressed in a disaster response and recovery plan? In this chapter, we will review the most common forms of disaster, then identify the key issues that must be addressed in an effective disaster response and recovery plan.
