ABSTRACT
The generation and use of energy have created enormous opportunities for many creative individuals and companies in the past, and could offer many more now and in the future. Huge markets have opened, where energy-related products and services are made, sold and bought in great quantities. The energy generation and use create a different set of opportunities for creating goods, services and jobs in the area of environmental protection. One of the most important and largest markets in the US and the world is that of electric power generation, distribution, and use. This is a huge market that includes an enormous network of mines, drill sites, power plants, land and water vehicle fleets, distribution lines, and millions of jobs around the world. President Obama called on Congress to create an energy security trust fund, which would create new energy markets complete with new technologies, thousands of new jobs that ultimately will reduce or eliminate the painful spikes in gas prices.
