ABSTRACT

Multi-stage horizontally split models are used in medium pressure services. Many different flow schemes are possible for these and other multi-stage pumps. Chemical pumps must often deal with air and vapors due to the presence of air in solution, tank unloading, and the handling of liquids near their vapor pressures. Areas of concern often involve the sleeves and bearing materials. Major factors to consider when selecting bearing materials are as follows: The column assembly performs three functions. Furthermore, canned motor pumps are product-lubricated and require no mechanical seals. However, while canned motor pumps are among the viable options and have been the subject of books and articles, traditional centrifugal pump designs have made progress as well. Magnetic drive end suction, canned motor, reciprocating, and various types of rotary positive displacement pumps have also been successfully used to process some of the many hydrocarbon liquids, both hot and cold.
