ABSTRACT

After conducting the audit for the weatherization program, the auditor produces a work order to indicate what work is to be done to retrofit the home. The first step in creating the work order is using the on-site inspection to evaluate possible “deal breakers,” an issue that keeps the home from qualifying for weatherization. The second step in creating a work order is to designate on the rough drawings where the building envelope is and develop a list of the measures considered appropriate for the home. The third step to creating a work order involves tying up loose ends and providing additional information. Once the work order is completed, it is up to the retrofitters to install the measures indicated and re-test the home at the end of the work, and if the work takes more than one day, retest from day-to-day as well.
