ABSTRACT

The energy markets basically include the fossil energy sources and fuels and the related petrochemicals, as well as all energy aspects of transportation, electric power and, of course, the different types of alternative and renewable energy sources. This chapter discusses and analyzes the key aspects of the energy market. The electrical industries were the first to deregulate and liberalize, at which point more room was given for new and better market mechanisms. Energy may be stored in systems without being present as matter, as kinetic or electro-magnetic energy. Stored energy is created whenever a particle has been moved through a field it interacts with, but the energy to accomplish this is stored as a new position of the particles in the field. Energy in the universe is sometimes quickly and easily changed from one state into another. At times the conversion process is not that quick, nor easy, depending on the type of materials and processes involved.
