ABSTRACT
‘Sulfonamide’ is not a defined chemical. In chemistry, the sulfonamide functional group is -S(=O)2-NH2 , a sulfonyl group connected to an amine group. ‘Sulfonamides’ are compounds that contain this group (Wikipedia). In chemical databases, it may be used as synonym for sulfanilamide, which is 4-aminobenzenesulfonamide (ChemIDPlus, PubChem). See also Chapter 3.456 Sulfanilamide. Sulfonamides may be tested 5% pet.
