ABSTRACT

In the last few decades, artificial intelligence (AI) has been developed into a multidisciplinary field with computer science, engineering, psychology, philosophy, ethics, etc. The main objective of AI is to develop machines with the potential to perform tasks such as essential intelligence, like reasoning, learning, planning, problem resolving, as well as perception. At the same time, the Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT) involves uniquely identifiable devices linked to the Internet and able to communicate with one another, employed in the healthcare sector. Several IoHT-based clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) were presented by the use of AI approaches and finds useful in several domains. This chapter offers an introductory explain of AI concepts, evolution, clinical data generation, and AI techniques in healthcare. This chapter also discusses several applications of AI techniques developed in the healthcare sector.
