ABSTRACT

In Poland, before 2005, 257 consecutive patients were patch tested with amcinonide 0.1% pet. and there were 7 positive reactions, one of which was considered to be relevant. Also in Germany, for the period 1995-2004, the population-based relative incidence of contact sensitization to amcinonide was estimated to be 23.6. In Poland, before 2005, 257 consecutive patients were patch tested with amcinonide 0.1% pet. In this group of 315 CS allergic patients, 91 had positive patch tests to amcinonide 0.1% alc. In the period 1982-1994, in a center in Tokyo, 11 patients were diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis from topical corticosteroids, including two cases caused by amcinonide. In reviewing the Japanese literature up to 1994, 43 patients with allergic contact dermatitis from topical corticosteroid were identified, including 8 caused by amcinonide. A 20-year-old atopic woman was treated for eczema on the backs of the hands with amcinonide 0.05% cream.
