ABSTRACT

Built heritage should be considered as archaeological heritage since the ancient concept of construction is no longer a part of contemporary culture. This heritage should therefore be handed down to future generations as part of the history of architecture of various historical eras. The last few decades have witnessed the formulation of conservation theory which, adapted to the requirements of built heritage, is based on the canons of the theory of the conservation and restoration for historical and artistic heritage.

The main principles are the reduction in deterioration, reversibility and the principle of minimum intervention.
