ABSTRACT
In Chapter 2, an extensive survey has been carried out on single band-notched ultra-wideband antennas and their different band notching techniques. Due to the large bandwidth in UWB system, several narrow-band frequencies already overlapped with UWB frequency band, causing electromagnetic interference. Hence, for designing UWB system, it is necessary to avoid interference by applying different notched band techniques. These techniques include slotted radiating or ground surfaces, placing parasitic elements, incorporation of electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures, etc.
