ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 presents an extensive literature review on UWB multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) antennas based on the single, dual, and multi band rejection approaches. Moreover, these techniques provide additional degrees of freedom by providing a number of antennas at both transmitter and receiver, which reduce multipath fading and increase channel capacity. Although these techniques provide better performance, they suffer from narrow-band interferences with high correlations because of a close arrangement of antenna elements. Therefore, to reduce the interfering issues, antennas with different slotted structures, parasitic stubs, and EBG structures are being used, and are reported in this chapter. Besides this, some of the isolation enhancement approaches are also included in the chapter, which may be helpful for future research work.
