ABSTRACT

Multilayered radar absorbing structures are generally composed of several material layers stacked on top of one another, resulting in a number of interfaces at which reflection and transmission occur. If EM wave is incident on a particular layer, the overall recursive reflection coefficient corresponds to the total reflection coming from that layer, which in turn includes the effect of reflections from all the layers beneath it. The theoretical formulation for the computation of overall reflection and transmission coefficients of such configurations is elaborately described in this chapter along with intuitive ray diagrams. The formulation clearly takes into account the separate cases of normal as well as oblique incidence.
