ABSTRACT
This chapter presents several approaches to solve material balance and energy balance of different systems that involve physical processes without chemical reactions and reacting processes. The chapter provides several examples of calculating energy balance for cases with both chemical reaction and non-reactive processes. The illustrations present in this chapter are resolved manually and verified with five commercial software packages: UniSim/Hysys, PRO/II, Aspen Plus, SuperPro Designer, and Aveva Process Simulation.
