ABSTRACT

Cascading justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) throughout an organization requires engaging middle managers, team leaders, and employees by communicating vision and goals, building capacity, and providing resources. Capacity building in the form of JEDI development, tools, and resources for middle managers and team leaders is crucial to embedding shared vision. Leveraging people-centered design creates a process to promote diversity of voices and to better align outcomes with shared organizational vision. Team norms play a crucial role in creating psychological safety ensuring that individuals can bring their full selves to work and contribute fully. Designing work for belonging requires redesign benefits, wellness and well-being programs, and work structures. Designing for accessibility in the workplace supports people with disabilities to contribute fully to the organization’s shared vision.
