ABSTRACT

The precise calculation of a function at a given point is among the most basic tasks we must be able to perform, but it is sometimes not a trivial one. This chapter describes several methods how the real and complex W function can be approximated by using series approximations, Pad´e approximants, and continued fractions. The basics from the theory of Pad´e approximants, and of the continued fractions relevant to our study are described, so those who are not familiar with these topics can understood the results.
