ABSTRACT
This chapter gives examples from biology, ecology, and probability where the Lambert function and its generalizations can be applied. These functions come handy when cell proliferation models need to be solved (via delay differential equations). It turned out that the blooming of phytoplanktons in the ocean can successfully be modeled by the use of the W function. Another surprising appearance of W is in the analysis of graphs appearing on the Twitter social media platform. These topics are all covered in Chapter 8.
