ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the strut-and-tie method (STM), a structural analysis method used for designing the reinforcement of parts of structures where the plane section hypothesis is not applicable: the discontinuous regions (D-regions). The chapter also covers the design of partially loaded areas.
