ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of torsion in reinforced concrete structures. It studies the pre-cracking and post-cracking behavior of concrete elements subjected to torsion, considering both elastic and plastic responses. This chapter covers the design of reinforcement for concrete elements under torsion, encompassing both longitudinal and transverse reinforcement. Furthermore, this chapter also includes the interaction between torsion and other actions, such as bending and shear.
