ABSTRACT

A digitigrade animal is one that stands or walks on its digits, or toes, by definition, although author see it more as the ball of the foot or pad of the hand. Digitigrades include walking birds, cats, dogs, and most other mammals. As an added point of reference, she extracted from the illustrations the triangular forceful shape of the upper leg and how it looks for the stretched and compressed legs. She started with the FORCE in the hip area and that led me across the body, down to the chest, and then around into the neck and head. With this elephant leaning into its rear, she focused on the back and upward motion of this pose. The drifting movement of the elephant toward the right and how it affects its feet was the title or focus in this experience.
