ABSTRACT

In the preceding chapters, the details have been gathered and elaborated about COVID-19, the virus’s origin, safety measures to reduce the virus’s spread, and a technology merger. In the previous chapter, we have emphasized how digital technology, such as augmented reality (AR), can help slow down the spread of the virus and its contribution to the welfare of the disabled community. We will discuss important points about the marker-based AR technique and the procedure for marker detection involving image preprocessing, discarding marker outliers, deciphering markers, and estimating the pose of the marker via the camera. The AR model design for the proposed social distancing application is displayed as a block diagram consisting of all necessary components such as image processing, image rendering, and camera pose estimation. Proceeding with the architecture of the application, the required installation steps for Vuforia with Unity have been superimposed with images and IDE instructions in this chapter. The next chapter will mostly focus on the mitigation remedies, public health measure solution, and technical discussion giving a fair future outlook considering the impacts of the current research work.
