ABSTRACT
The group IX includes elements, such as cobalt, rhodium and iridium which are relatively rare in earth’s crust. Among these elements, cobalt is most abundant which accounts for 23 ppm by weight, whereas rhodium and iridium are among the rarest in the earth. These elements have odd atomic numbers.
