ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the need for thermal and catalytic processes are integrated into the refinery through the various process innovations that have evolved over the decades of the 20th century and are continuing into the 21st century. This includes recognition of the evolution of the processes through design and integration of the active processes as well as design and integration of the supporting components that give the desired results to satisfy the modern marketplace.
