ABSTRACT
This chapter sets out an analytical framework from which to establish observations on how information flows within the Dubai real estate market. Reference is be made to a global analysis of market transparency and the characteristics that set out Dubai. Practical insights will be given as to how real estate practitioners collect and analyse data and how they present a number of challenges in the context of property development; investment and valuation. New data set that has been established locally will be discussed and highlighted as a series of case study analyses. The evolution of data in Dubai is discussed and a step-by-step guide to the new Dubai Open Data real estate sources is presented in the context of a simple valuation appraisal. The same could also appeal to a prospective purchaser or property advisor. The chapter concludes by looking to the future and the impact of further development in property market information in Dubai.
