ABSTRACT

This chapter will investigate the characteristics of the infamous Dubai property cycle, and the factors that influence the demand and supply for the residential sector in Dubai. The examination of market regulation such as the issuance of mortgage caps in 2013 and its impact on the market is presented as a topical case study drawn from real-world market data analysis. This chapter will supplement industry discussions and provides a very thorough and detailed discussion of Dubai residential from an investment perspective. An overview of financing residential property is also considered in some detail as to update on the regulation that has been introduced since 2008.
