ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the unique properties of the Cosserat plate statics and dynamics. We show that these properties are the result of the presence of the microstructure in the plate. The numerical experiments show that the microstructure may increase the stiffness of the plates and change the influence of the plate size on its deformation. The microstructure is also responsible for the additional Cosserat resonances of the plate free vibration. Furthermore, the experiments show the dynamic anisotropy of Cosserat plates, i.e. the dependency of the Cosserat frequencies on the shape and the orientation of the microstructure elements.
