ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the details of basic or fundamental lean tools. The 5S lean tool is explained from the perspective of implementation aspects. Then TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) fundamentals and the eight pillars are also presented. This is followed by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) analysis with illustrative problems and TPM implementation aspects. The role of Industry 4.0 technologies enabling TPM has been highlighted.
