ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the details of further basic or fundamental lean tools: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and workcell. An overview of process maps and value stream maps has been presented. Terminologies used in VSM and data parameters (observation, measurement, and computation) have also been presented. The constructional aspects of VSM are presented with details of case studies. This is followed by a presentation on the variants of VSM and eVSM software. The concept of workcell is presented along with the implementation steps.
