ABSTRACT
Reviewed in this chapter is various power system architectures used in ships. Both the traditional mechanical and the modern electrical drives in cargo, passenger, and navy ships are presented. Additional topics covered are electrical load analysis, American Bureau of Shipping classification of ships, shipboard circuit designations, and efficiency and reliability of equipment connected in chain.
