ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to the core of what art is and why it is so intrinsically linked with what it means to be a human. Few argue that artificial intelligence is now changing the world as we know it, both in ways we can fathom and observe but also through unforeseen consequences that perhaps some of us can speculate about, but no one really can yet fully oversee. The chapter provides an insight on the current status of machine-generated artforms, its consequences and what can be expected in the near future as its potential starts to be realised in a fuller extent. The confusion and stress it caused created a public disquiet that spanned across the fabrics of society, something that was lost in the contemporary artist communities rendering the publication of numerous art manifestos seeking to illustrate and help humanity handle this new reality with its unique challenges.
