ABSTRACT

Modeling is essential for optimizing and designing any separation process. Modeling a complex phenomenon such as the extraction of natural materials is an important activity due to its proposed economic capabilities. Such predictions need to build a model that predicts phase behavior, equilibrium, solubility, adsorption, desorption and so on. This chapter examines the modeling performed for subcritical water extraction. This chapter also presents the basics used in developing a new model for this process.
