ABSTRACT
The objective of this short chapter consists in specifying the properties of anisotropic elastic media then to focus on the materials that interest us more particularly. After a reminder of mechanics of continuous media: stress and strain states at a point, elastic coefficients, one defines the mechanical properties of orthotropic material then of transverse isotropic material.
