ABSTRACT

Studying the behavior of a laminate composed of many plies with different orientations requires knowledge of the behavior of each of these plies, along directions that are different from the principal material directions of the ply. In this chapter, we propose to determine the elastic constants corresponding to such a ply behavior using relatively simple calculations. Thus, flexibility and stiffness coefficients and thermomechanical and hygrothermal aspects are examined for a ply with any orientation.
