ABSTRACT

Weed management practices were usually applied uniformly to the entire field just like the other management practices adopted for crop, soil and pest. Precision farming proposes so many effective set of tools, which can address these apprehensions and increase the efficiency of weed management. Different methods have been developed to scout and detect weeds so as to adopt control measures at the place of requirement. The knowledge on variable weed emergence patterns provides basics for site-specific management of weeds. The control systems in such modern devices have great control to adjust the changes as per the vehicle speed and regulate variable rates of chemical applications in accordance to the preplanned maps. A microprocessor in the sprayer consists of console and controller which uses the information on sprayer width and desired amount per unit area to work out the suitable flow rate for the current ground speed.
