      ABSTRACT

      After the review on basic control theory proposed in Chapter 5, an example on how to apply those concepts is proposed. A passive RL circuit is considered. After the design of the PI regulator, some Simulink® simulations are proposed to check the behavior of the overall system. In this framework, some comments about the performances of the regulator are reported. In particular, an anti-windup structure of the regulator is proposed to avoid any charging effect of the integral part of the controller. Finally, a design guideline is proposed for PI-based controlled systems.
