ABSTRACT
The chapter provides introductory explanations to the Partial Differential Equation (PDE) Toobox™ as well as a MATLAB® primer for engineering students and professionals. The objectives of the book and principal audience are outlined and accompanied by a short description of the topics and structure of the book chapters. The history of PDE Toolbox™ and MATLAB® is briefly presented along with the advantages of the software. It also discusses the order in which the material in the book can be studied.
