ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the main theoretical principles for the production of UHPC, which involves reduction in porosity, improvement in microstructure, enhancement in homogeneity, and increase in toughness. The composition design of UHPC regarding the selection principles of raw materials and optimization of particle size distribution curves is described. The scientific basis for mixture design and common production technologies, such as mixing, casting and placing, and curing, of UHPC are also discussed.
