ABSTRACT

Cedarwood oil, Texas is the essential oil obtained from the wood of the Mexican juniper, Juniperus ashei J. Buchholz. Its wood is steam-distilled to produce Texas cedarwood oil, a pleasant fragrance used in a range of fragrance applications such as soap perfumes, candles, cosmetics, household sprays, and floor polishes. The oil is especially employed to give dry nuances in citrus and woody compositions. Cedarwood oil Texas is a brown to reddish viscous liquid, which has a woody, dry and soft odor with a slightly smoky top note. No reports on contact allergy to cedarwood oil, Texas specifically mentioned to be obtained from the wood of Juniperus ashei J. Buchholz have been found.
