ABSTRACT

Statistics provide a platform for researchers as to how to incept research study on the basis of global standards. The ethics of statistics in research is very important and provides necessary statistical insights, advanced tools, and conceptual findings of quantitative reasoning to explore new innovative ideas from real experimental data sets intelligently. A reliable study design and statistical tools are often needed to communicate true information to the researchers worldwide and also support hypothesis testing with the highest credibility and greater accuracy. Suitable statistical tools are important for researchers and also healthcare professionals for assessing patients to understand the real concepts of treatment and follow-up interventions, so that they can be informed to evaluate the credibility and usefulness of information, and to make appropriate decisions. Unfortunately, many scientists are not adopting statistical ethics in their research work; plausibly, this kind of deviation would affect the experimental objectives and testing of hypotheses. In this regard, this chapter describes various issues, challenges, and several pitfalls in statistics and also how to avoid serious errors in experimental observations using reliable statistical methods.
