ABSTRACT
With the rise of Industry 4.0, there has been a shift in the IT paradigm of organizations. These days, from individuals to industries, every sector utilizes IoT devices, CPSs and IDs, smart grids, etc. The escalating IT market also attracts myriad of cyberattacks and threats. For securing enterprises’ data and providing a safe work environment, cybersecurity awareness is decisive. Organizations require professionals with CSA and who are trained to secure the IT infrastructure, investigate system susceptibilities, and implement cybersecurity tests. Training cybersecurity personnel and performing complex security assessments necessitate a sophisticated CR. An ideal CR encompasses all the aspects of CSA and provides a simulation of the entire network structure for training, performing tests, research, and team access. CRs provide a platform for carrying out CEs useful for cultivating expert skill and competence via simulations. This is an introductory chapter covering the basic aspects of a CR, such as the merits and need of a CR with respect to the present-world scenario. CRaaS and on-premise CRs along with different types of CRs are also discussed in this chapter.
