ABSTRACT
The compressor is the pump in the refrigeration system. It takes the low temperature, low pressure refrigerant gas from the evaporator and compresses it to a high temperature, high pressure gas. The temperature would result if the psychrometric process line were carried to the saturation condition of the leaving air while maintaining the same sensible heat ratio. Fluid flow varied in velocity across the plane perpendicular to flow. The velocity of a fluid is based on the cross-sectional area of the conduit and the volume of fluid passing through the conduit. Dew point is the temperature at which moisture will start to condense from the air. The heat which when supplied to or removed from a substance causes a change of state without any change in temperature. The units of latent heat are British thermal unit per pound of dry air.
