ABSTRACT
Many of the innovative manufacturing concepts in practice throughout the world today are directly attributable to American ingenuity. Such innovative concepts find their roots in the manufacturing evolution that has occurred as an integral part of American history. Ongoing advances in manufacturing-based organizations are a result of key historical events and persons, current trends and state-of-the-art technology, and manufacturing advancements being realized in conjunction with Industry 4.0 initiatives. An awareness is created regarding the impact that manufacturing operations have on overall organizational strategic Total Manufacturing Assurance (TMA) direction.
