ABSTRACT

Industry 4.0 technology advancements provide real-time support for Total Manufacturing Assurance (TMA) direction by enabling the capability to assess all organizational and manufacturing operational activities relative to success or failure. The TMA-oriented data system captures quantitative and qualitative information and lessons learned data regarding product reliability, safety, quality, etc., to support enhanced engineering management decisions. The objective of the TMA data system is to provide a centralized depository for pertinent management, product, and manufacturing system data and information that is routinely generated. Availability of data and information reports enable smarter management decisions based on specific status and trends and alerts concerning major problems. There are three key tasks in the operation of a data system: (1) data collection, (2) data processing, and (3) data reporting. These tasks enable the TMA data and information to be recorded, transmitted, stored, and ultimately retrieved upon demand.
