ABSTRACT

An essential part of attaining Total Manufacturing Assurance (TMA) is timely and comprehensive planning that addresses strategic organizational and manufacturing operations. The mechanism to be strategic is to actually develop and implement a living, dynamic strategic plan. This consists of having a vision with milestones that leads to defining strategic goals, objectives, and tactics. A fundamental task is SWOT analysis to understand organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It is through a well-vetted and structured strategic plan that an organization is able to advance in accordance with a schedule and proactively use key performance metrics to know if desired results are being attained.
