In this chapter, the authors consider nonlinear dissipative systems in which this equation arises. They recall some properties of generalized Burgers equation and derive the two-dimensional and generalized Burgers equation for some dissipative systems. The generalized Burgers equations arise in various physical media, such as the three-dimensional propagation of acoustic waves in thermoviscous fluids, radiative gas dynamics and magnetogasdynamics, waves in thermostatic media, one-dimensional propagation in nonhomogeneous media, etc. The authors derive an unusual evolution equation for sound waves in a collisional plasma. For large collision times, this equation reduces to KdV equation with a small fourth order dissipative term.
