ABSTRACT
Physics deals with such topics as heat, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, and mechanics. The topic of mechanics can be divided into two divisions called statics and dynamics. The science of mechanics deals with the motion of bodies and forces, and the effect of these forces on the bodies on which they act. The displacement of the links that make up the mechanism must be analyzed throughout the mechanism’s working cycle. There are common graphic conventions associated with mechanisms. The displacement of a body is its change of position with reference to a fixed point. Linear velocity is the rate of linear displacement of a point or body along its path of motion. An important part of mechanical design is determining the strength of the various parts of a mechanism. An interactive computer graphics system can be used to determine the acceleration of the various links that make up a mechanism in a similar manner.
