ABSTRACT

We should thank any people or organisations that funded us or any component of our work. Check with them, as they may have specific wording that they want us to use. Remember that our institution may not have given us money but may have supported us in other ways, and we should probably thank them. Funders rely on being able to search databases for their name and find all of the work that they have funded. This means that we should use the particular wording that they supplied, especially if they specify this in their funding letter. Many journals have specific ways in which they want people's names to be written. The acknowledgements is a section to name people who have gone out of their way to help us.
