ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 deals with results and problems in fixed point theory to which the theory of w-distances can be applied. So, some relevant theorems of Banach, Rakotch, Kannan, Ćirić, Fisher, Meir and Keeler, and Subrahmanyam are studied in the framework of w-distances. Mainly these results were obtained by Kada, Suzuki and Takahashi, Suzuki, Morales, Ume, Kocev, Karapinar and Rakočević.
