ABSTRACT

The first two sections of Chapter 5 deal with some best proximity points results using w-distances involving simulation and R-functions. These results were mainly obtained by Kosti´c, Rakočević and Radenovi´c and Kosti´c, Karapinar and Rakočević. The other sections of Chapter 5 study various (φ, ψ, p)-contractive mappings. As an application, the obtained results are used to ensure the existence and uniqueness of the solution for nonlinear Fredholm integral equations and Volterra integral equations together with non-linear fractional differential equations of Caputo type. These results were mainly obtained by Razani, Mazlumi Nezhad and Boujary, Lakzian and Lin, Lakzian, Aydi and Rhoades, Wongyat and Sintunavarat, Dobri¸toiu and Lakzian and Rakočević.
