ABSTRACT

This Chapter represents a boundary condition among the Triumvirate disciplined approach of which this text is based. One of the initial claims is that the problem with many approaches is not they are incorrect, but incorrect for the application. Chapter 8 provides the boundary conditions for the movement from Systems Engineering, to the Market, to Technology Management. With the preparation provided previously, the reviewer will clearly see why each discipline is required to be applied in their own boundaries, parameters and limitations.

Systems Engineering develops technology to the market. It is received, bartered and brokered in the marketplace, and purchased by a Technology Management team. The Technology Management team then installs the new technology, itself a system, into its own fixed infrastructure for use as their mission requires. There are two leaps that new technology makes. One is from the Systems Engineering Team to Market, and then from the Market to Technology Management. Keep in mind that even a Systems Engineering team hands over their technology to a Technology Management team for manufacturing and distribution, and eventual use elsewhere. Systems Engineering makes, Technology Management takes and the Market brokers. For a technology to be successful, all these steps must be fulfilled.
