ABSTRACT

This chapter offers the classification of circuit models for electric machines, the orthogonal (dq) physical model with its pulsational and motion-induced voltages, basic dq model of synchronous machine (in rotor coordinates ωbr), the basic dq model of induction machines in stator, rotor, synchronous coordinates (ωb=0, ωr, ω1), cross-coupling magnetic saturation inclusion in the dq (orthogonal), model of a.c. machines, frequency (skin) effects consideration in dq models, equivalence between dq models and the phase-coordinate models of a.c. machines, space phasor (complex variable or vector) model, high-frequency models for electric machines, orthogonal ( multiple dq) models for multiphase a.c. machines, a summary and seven proposed problems with solving hints (70 equations, 13 figures).
